"Remember our past - support the present - build our future."
This spring the congregation completed a very successful capital campaign to fund needed repairs and improvements to our sanctuary. The theme, “Cherish the Past: Embrace the Future” captured both the importance of the location and thus the history of our church in the downtown historical district and also the commitment of this church to remain a downtown church.
The programs a church offers reflects its mission and the last few years have seen a strengthening of the many opportunities for church friends and members alike. As we move towards the close of this calendar year, our congregation must prepare for the coming fiscal year. That preparation requires us to examine the connection between our spiritual commitment and our financial commitment.
Stewardship is about more than just money. It is the shepherding of the many gifts given to us by God including our time, talent, and treasure. The stewardship theme this year will be: "Remember our past - support the present - build our future."
Beginning on Sunday, October 18 and continuing through Sunday, November 8, we will have a person speaking for just a few minutes during the Sunday service. As you prepare your stewardship story, consider this theme. You are certainly free to talk about your connection to this church in any way that makes sense to you. Please try to limit your time to between 2 to 3 minutes. If you would like to share a story please contact the church office (301) 662-2762. Thank you.
“From Jesus’ fullness we have all received, grace upon grace.” John 1:16
